Alternative Dispute Resolution

Disputes are a part of doing business; at Dentons, resolving them is our business. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is one of Dentons’ core practices. Litigation may be a necessary component of a dispute resolution strategy, but it is only one of the problem-solving tools we apply to resolve disputes.

Class Action Defense

When facing class action litigation, you want sharp legal minds by your side. Complex cases, thousands of potential plaintiffs, government/regulatory scrutiny and huge corporate implications—these are the hallmarks of class action litigation today. Dentons has acquired an international reputation as the law firm of choice for enterprises facing high stakes cases that require a multifaceted approach.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

Our dispute resolution lawyers employ the most appropriate tools and strategies for each stage of the process and each unique situation. Whether through timely use of innovative alternative dispute resolution techniques or skillful and persuasive advocacy in the courtroom, you can count on our lawyers to maximize your prospects for a successful outcome. We also work with you to assess and manage your risks in relation to the legal costs of the dispute and to seek to minimize the likelihood of future litigation.

Professional Liability Litigation

Professionals take major responsibilities in their work. Health care professionals make life and death decisions. Architects and engineers make decisions that have significant safety implications. Accountants, brokers and financial advisors make decisions that have a major impact on financial health. Not surprisingly, this responsibility exposes them to major liabilities. They and their insurers need legal advisors who can help them assess their risks, put procedures in place to mitigate them, and vigorously defend them, if necessary. Professional liability is a very sophisticated area of insurance defense; it requires a legal team with experience in class actions, regulated professions, and risk management.

Securities and Corporate Finance

Securities and corporate finance transactions have become increasingly complex and challenging, particularly in the midst of fluctuating market conditions. Partner with Dentons and work with an innovative thinker in all aspects of securities transactions and regulation, corporate finance and capital markets.
